Leaving Four Weeks From TODAY ! ! !
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does."
James 1:2-8

I can't believe it! My plane leaves four weeks from today. I fly early in the morning out of Nashville to Chicago, then leave that afternoon on a flight to Tokyo, spend the night there and fly on to Manila the next morning! I have to spend the night in Manila before I can fly to Cagayan de Oro City, because I arrive after the last flight leaves, but I found out the office in the US Embassy I need to go to get a 'permit to marry in the Philippines' is only open from 8 to 10 am, so I would have to spend the night anyway. Hopefully the two layovers will help me adjust to the thirteen-hour time change!
I am so excited about my trip! I am going to have the opportunity to sing at Pastor Roy's church and I may speak in at least one of the services as well! I went before my church here this morning and received prayer for my trip.
Do I know what is going to happen between Kathlene and me? No, but I am going to go prepared if we do decide to marry while I am there. After this trip, it will be most likely after the first of the year before I could return. Which if we do marry, is about how long it will take to get Kathlene a visa so she can return to the US with me on my next trip! In this world of lighting-fast computers and worldwide access to information on the internet, I cannot understand how it takes the government so long to process a few forms.
But I am SURE this is where God is leading me and I know He will guide my steps while I am there and I KNOW His will shall be done in Kathlene and my lives if we will only listen to His voice!

Go with confidence. :-)
I am so excited for you! Ain't love grand? :-D
To be honest, love scares the pants off me! How can something be so powerful to make someone drop everything to pursue it?
Or make the Creator of the Universe come down from His throne to save a people who reject His sacrifice?
That's just it... love IS so powerful. And God's love is so much more powerful even than ours. It is beyond human comprehension. It is awesome, it is wonderful, and it is a mystery.
Scary? Yes, sometimes. But still grand. ;-)
